Meditative Art Retreat

Le Marche, Italy in April 2027

The Meditative Art Retreat will take place from April 3-9, 2027

This retreat is an invitation to slow down.

To step out of everyday rhythms and enter a week shaped by painting, presence, and quiet attention — held by nature, shared meals, and a calm, supportive atmosphere.

Set in the gentle hills of Le Marche, Italy, often called the new Tuscany, this Meditative Art Retreat offers space to reconnect with your creative process, your intuition, and your own inner rhythm.

About the retreat

This retreat is centered around a meditative painting practice.

We will work slowly, intuitively, and without pressure to perform or produce.

Using heavily diluted acrylics, water, transparency, and layering, we explore painting as a contemplative process rather than a result-driven activity. The focus is not on creating a “perfect” artwork, but on being present with color, movement, and flow.

Guided sessions alternate with quiet time for individual exploration, rest, and reflection. There is ample space to pause, observe, and allow things to unfold naturally.

No prior experience is required. This retreat is open to beginners and experienced painters alike.

The painting process

During the week, you will be guided through my meditative painting approach step by step:

  • working with raw canvas and surface preparation
  • understanding dilution, transparency, and layering
  • allowing forms to emerge rather than planning them
  • developing trust in your own rhythm and intuition

The process is gentle and unhurried.

There is no expectation to finish or “achieve” something — each participant is invited to work at their own pace.

We will also explore additional meditative techniques using watercolor, ink, and water.

The retreat takes place at Chiaraluce Country House, near Massignano in the Marche region.
