Hi, I'm Johanne.

My paintings arise from stillness. Using heavily diluted acrylics on raw canvas, I build translucent layers that recall the softness of watercolor. Light and shadow move gently through the surface, creating depth, openness, and quiet rhythm.

The process is slow and intuitive — a silent conversation with color, water, and touch. Often working without brushes, I paint with my hands, allowing landscapes, waves, and atmospheric spaces to appear and dissolve again. Nothing is fixed; forms remain open, inviting personal resonance rather than clear interpretation.

Painting, for me, is a contemplative practice. It is a way of listening inward, of translating inner states into visual space, and of creating moments of pause within the movement of everyday life.

After many years of building and running a bridal fashion label, I returned to painting during a period of profound personal change. This return led me to study art therapy alongside my artistic practice.

Today, my work is collected internationally, primarily in the United States, as well as in Australia, Hong Kong, Brazil, Canada, Spain, France, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland, England, Italy, Sweden, Israel, and Germany.
